Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was the daughter of actors Melissa D. Canaday (New York City) and Edward James Hyland (New York City). She started in the business at the age 4 with commercial work as well as voice-overs. The first film she made was Private Parts (1997). She then moved on to The Object of My Affection (1998) and later spent time in Another World (1964) as "Rain Wolfe" as a child found in the park, and fostered by Josie and Gary. Sarah worked alongside Amy Carlson ("Josie") several times more: Falcone (2000). Law & Order (1990). Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was selected as one of the young "Audrey Hepburns" in Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story (2000) in the same year that she was also cast in the role of "Molly" on ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999) which starred Kathy Bates, Audra McDonald, Alan Cumming, Victor Garber and Kristin Chenoweth. She also appeared in Joe Gould's Secret (2000) and Falcone (2000). Sarah studied voice, jazz hip hop, tap, Theatre Dance and voice. She also performed in her tap class and Theatre class at "Reel to Real" at Lincoln Center as invited performers. Sarah was born in New York and raised in New York. Her homeschooling was provided by her mother up to 2nd grade. After that, she attended Public School. She was accepted to PPAS in the 6th grade. This school is where she stayed until her graduation in 2008. Sarah was 18 when she moved to Los Angeles. She landed a pilot called "My American Family" within two weeks. Once picked up the name was changed to Modern Family (2009). Up to date, Sarah portrays "Haley Dunphy" the eldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) was nominated for the Emmy award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
