Rose McGowan

 

Rosa Arianna "Rose", born September 5, 1973 was an American actress. McGowan's debut film appearance was in the comedy Encino Man (1992), however, she received more attention due to her part in The Doom Generation (1995) and was honored with an Independent Spirit Award nomination as Best Debut Performance. Her breakthrough came in the horror film Scream (1996) and later was the lead in the film Going All the Way (1997) Devil in the Flesh (1998) and Jawbreaker (1999). In the 2000s, McGowan became known to TV viewers for her character in the role of Paige Matthews in The WB supernatural drama series Charmed (2001-2006). Quentin Tarantino directed her double-feature film Grindhouse (2006) and in which she won the Saturn Award for Best Actress and the Scream Award to Best Scream Queen. Her debut album, Planet 9, was released in the year 2018. The album was followed by a revamp of Planet 9 in 2020. McGowan was honored by Time as the Silence Breakers, the magazine’s Person of the Year in the year 2017. She spoke out against sexual assault and harassment and in particular the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases. In the year 2018, she released Brave the memoir of her life, and also appeared in Citizen Rose, a four-part documentary series.
