Ava DuVernay and Autumn Riley

Ava DuVernay is a Californian born in Long Beach, California on 24 August 1972. DuVernay was motivated to pursue her love of the arts by her aunt Denise as a young kid. Aunt Denise worked the night shifts as a nursing assistant so she could indulge her passion for art literature and theater in the daytime. DuVernay was a fan of the movie West Side Story, which she brought to her. DuVernay realized that art could be a powerful tool to promote social activism. Similar to DuVernay's mom, she was conscious of her social status and influenced her to say something through art. Even though DuVernay lived in Compton with her family, she spent every summer living in Lowndes County Alabama where her father's family lived for generations. The father of DuVernay's reminiscences recalled the historical Civil Rights march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in the nearby city of Selma Alabama. DuVernay was strongly influenced by the summers she spent in Selma and decided to make a documentary about the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. DuVernay earned her Saint Joseph High School diploma in Lakewood California. Upon graduation, DuVernay studied in the University of California Los Angeles and graduated with degrees in English and African American study. DuVernay started producing for broadcast journalism while she was still in the college. Her first job was as an intern for CBS News, during the O.J. Simpson trial. DuVernay recalled being given the responsibility of looking over the house and examining the garbage belonging to one of juries. Following her disappointment with journalistic work by the assignments she was handed, DuVernay decided to pursue the field of publicity. DuVernay was hired right from college to be an assistant publicist in an unassuming studio. The company she founded for her own PR, The DuVernay Agency was founded in 1999. In addition to PR, the company has also launched lifestyle networks as well as advertising campaigns such as the Urban Beauty Collective. Autumn Riley.............................Autumn Riley was born in Los Angeles United States. Autumn Riley is born with the birth sign of. She is an actress, well-known for her roles in American Experience (1987) and A More Perfect Union (2009). Autumn has played Rose, in A More Perfect Union (2009) as well as Anna Payne, in American Experience (1987).
